Ram Naik made UP Governor as Modi government appoints 6 new governors

New Delhi: After asking governors of six states including and West Bengal to step down from their positions, the Central government has now appointed governors for all the six states, say sources.

Sources say the former Petroleum Minister Ram Naik has been made the Uttar Pradesh Governor and former Delhi BJP chief OP Kohli the new Gujarat Governor.

While senior party leader from Punjab Balaram Das Tandon will be the new Chhattisgarh Governor, Padmanabha Acharya will take charge as the Governor of Nagaland and Tripura.

When Narendra Modi-led NDA government came to power, it asked many of the UPA-appointed governors to tender their resignation.
