Pinki of Oscar Fame to campaign for National Dalit Front
'Smile Pinki' lead character Pinki will campaign for NDF party.

Mirzapur: Nine-year-old Pinki, the main character of Oscar winning documentary 'Smile Pinki', will campaign for the National Dalit Front(NDF) in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

This was announced by the Indian Justice Party (IJP)President Udit Raj.He who was in the town,to attend his party function on Thursday,made the announcement,while visiting the village of Pinki and extending her cash reward of Rs 5,000.

He said, Pinki belonged to his caste and would work for disseminating the message of dalits across the country. Pinki, resident of Rampur Dabahi, an obscure village in naxal-hit Mirzapur district, has been a subject of seclusion due to her born deformity of cleft lip. She is now a normal child after a corrective surgery upon her.

The actor had recently hit the headlines during her much-publicized visit to Los Angles to attend the Oscar ceremony,in which 39-minute documentary directed by Megan Mylan won the Oscar award.

The IJP president said, that Pinki would be felicitated by Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan at a function in New Delhi on March 15.

The recently floated NDF with Mr Paswan as its chairman and Udit Raj as convenor comprised of IJP, LJP, Godwana Party and Republican Party would organise the function, which would discuss the common problems of Dalits.

He said Pinki would also be given some financial assistance in the function.
