No-confidence vote: Jagan meets loyalists
Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy had earlier said that MLAs loyal to him would vote against the government.

Hyderabad: The MLAs loyal to Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy held a meeting with him for the second successive day on Sunday over the no-confidence motion against the Congress government coming up in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Monday.

Twenty-two MLAs had held a meeting with Jagan over the issue on Saturday, while 19 of them attended Sunday's meeting, sources said.

Talking to reporters about the meeting, Sobha Nagi Reddy, a staunch Jagan loyalist and rebel MLA of Praja Rajayam Party, alleged that attempts are being made to wean away MLAs from the Jagan camp either by fear or favour.

Asked how many Jagan loyalists would vote against the government, she said, "You will come to know, when the hands are raised tomorrow (at the time of voting)".

On whether the number of MLAs supporting Jagan is coming down, she said, the MLAs need not be paraded all the time.

"Jagan said he would support no-confidence motion. If some MLAs are leaving, they may have pressures. It is their individual decision. All of us came on our own. Jagan did not invite us," she said.

She said the intention of the Jagan loyalists was not to destabilise the government but to protest against the alleged non-implementation of the welfare schemes launched by former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Sobha Nagi Reddy stressed that the meeting was not a formal one but the MLAs came to meet Jagan as he is in Hyderabad.

Jagan had earlier said that MLAs loyal to him would vote against the government.
