New Delhi: Naxals have stepped up attacks on the railways and security forces on the second day of their 48-hour bandh. There have been as many as five attacks across three states since Wednesday night.

Maoists targeted a local Congress leader Awadhesh Singh's house in Dantewada, killing two. Singh's father and brother-in-law have been killed while his son and security guard were injured in that attack.

The police station next to the house was also attacked.

The attack spree continued in neighbouring Jharkhand as well. Naxals blew up a railway station in Latehar and reportedly kidnapped three railway staffers.

Earlier, Daitari police station in Orissa's Keonjhar district was torched by the rebels who also kidnapped one.

Meanwhile, armed Naxals fired at CRPF camps in Bansgowda, Narayanpur and Dantewada in neighbouring Chhattisgarh. However, no casualties are reported in both attacks.
