More than one-sixth of Modi's ministers have not been to college
There are eight ministers whose educational qualification is completing 12th standard or below.

New Delhi: The row over the new Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani's educational qualification has led to a nationwide debate over the minimum qualification required to be a minister at the Centre. According to Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) analysis, there are eight ministers whose educational qualification is completing 12th standard or below 12th standard. Smriti Irani can now breathe easy.

Education Details of Ministers: Eight (18 per cent) ministers have declared that they have an education qualification of 12th pass or below while 35 (80 per cent) ministers have declared having an educational qualification of graduate or above.

The ADR has not analysed the details of two ministers Prakash Javadekar and Nirmala Seetharaman as both of them did not contest in the recent election and not members of the Parliament.
