Ratnakar Mishr of BJP has won Mirzapur seat, constituency No. 380 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly, by securing 104113 votes.
The main candidates from Mirzapur seat were Mo. Parvez Khan (BSP), Ratnakar Mishra (BJP), Kailash Chaurasiya (SP) and Dinesh Prasad (RLD).
In the 2012 Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party won this constituency by 22,299 votes. Kailash Nath Chaurasiya, the winning Samajwadi Party candidate, got 69,099 votes. The nearest contender was Rang Nath Mishra of Bahujan Samaj Party who got 46,800 votes. The voter turnout was 56.48 %.
Elections to 403 seats of Uttar Pradesh were held over 7 phases from February 4 to March 8.
Exit polls had predicted the BJP emerging first in Uttar Pradesh with the Samajwadi Party- Congress alliance emerging second and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party emerging a distant third.
