Patna: Barely a few hours after its poll pact with RJD in Bihar, a revolt is brewing in LJP with a prominent Muslim leader and Rajya Sabha MP from north Bihar threatening to quit if the party failed to put up a candidate from the minority community in at least one of six seats in the region to be contested by it.
"If LJP president Ramvilas Paswan does not field a Muslim candidate in any of the six seats in north Bihar which it got under seat sharing arrangement, I will be forced to leave the party and take an independent course during the upcoming Lok Sabha polls," Shabbir Ali said.
Ali, however, said he would take the decision after a meeting of top Mulsim leaders from north Bihar to be held on Wednesday in the national capital to discuss threadbare about the well being of the community in LJP.
Under the seat sharing agreement LJP got Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, West Champaran, Araria, Katihar and Purnia seats.
