Bangalore: Former Karnataka minister Katta Subramanya Naidu got bail on health grounds on Monday. The Karnataka High Court granted him bail in the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board scam.
Justice BV Pinto granted him bail fo a three month period on a condition that he furnishes a Rs five lakh bond.
Katta, who is currently admitted at the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai was arrested after a Lokayukta investigation.
Naidu, his son Jagadish, a Bangalore city Corporator, and ITASKA Software firm MD Srinivas had filed bail applications on August 9, a day after they were remanded to judicial custody by a lower court.
The special Lokayukta Court had rejected their bail pleas in connection with the KIADB land scam and irregularities in securing compensation for those whose lands were acquired.
The court had remanded them in judicial custody till August 22, after which police took them into custody.
Naidu had resigned from the BS Yeddyurappa ministry last December after registration of an FIR.
