Ishrat case: CBI court rejects plea to name Amit Shah as accused
The CBI had earlier told the court that it did not have any prosecutable evidence against BJP leader Amit Shah.

New Delhi: A CBI court on Thursday rejected an application seeking to name BJP leader Amit Shah and former Ahmedabad police commissioner KR Kaushik as accused in the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case.

The application was moved by Gopinath Pillai, the father of one of the victims of the encounter.

The CBI had earlier told the court that it did not have any prosecutable evidence against Amit Shah, a key aide of Narendra Modi, while KR Kaushik was a witness in the case and hence couldn't be prosecuted.
