Bangalore: A local court in Karnataka on Wednesday will hear the complaints filed against Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and others over allegations of corruption.
The court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing after C H Hanumantharaya, counsel for petitioner Sirajin Basha, said he would submit his objections on Wednesday.
Basha and another advocate Balaraj have filed five complaints against Yeddyurappa, his sons B Y Vijendra and B Y Rahavendra, MP and others after Governor H R Bhardwaj gave consent to prosecute them.
Additional City Civil and Session Court Judge C B Hippargi directed the petitioners to file their objections on an application moved by Sohan Kumar, son-in-law of Yeddyurappa, seeking a stay on the proceedings on the ground that the matter was under investigations by the Lokayukta.
The complaints pertain to 15 alleged instances of irregularities in denotification and allotment of land by Yeddyurappa.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa have admitted that he had committed a "mistake" by allotting land to his sons.
However, Yeddyurappa - who virtually forced the party high command to allow him to continue in office despite the scandal - appeared to differ with party president Nitin Gadkari who had said the Chief Minister's act of making out of turn land allotment to his sons may be "immoral but not illegal".
