Chief Electoral Officer S Kumarswamy said that any transaction above Rs 2.5 lakh through the bank will be monitored.
Panaji: Election Commission of India's Goa office on Monday began monitoring of money transactions through banks.
Chief Electoral Officer S Kumarswamy told on Monday that any transaction above Rs 2.5 lakh through the bank would be monitored.
Flying squads will apprehend the person and seek documents related to the money withdrawn or deposited. The Commission has also decided to take the help of Income Tax officials to scrutinise such transactions.
Kumarswamy admitted that political parties and candidates had clever ways of spending money or distributing liquor without coming under EC's scanner. "It is a challenge to find out these tactics," he said.
