Chennai: The Election Commission has initiated a probe into bribery charges against the AIADMK MLA MC Sampath. Sampath was caught on camera distributing money to voters.
Cuddalore Collector Kirlosh Kumar has initiated an inquiry into the incident. The inquiry team is headed by a Tahsildar and the report is to be submitted in two days.
The Election Commission has, meanwhile, allowed the usage of the word 'Amma' in Amma canteens and mineral water bottles, saying the word is a generic term and not linked to a political personality.
