This came after a PIL was filled in the Delhi High Court seeking de-registration of the AAP.
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has asked the Election Commission to give details relating to registration of the Aam Aadmi Party with it. This came after a PIL was filled in the Delhi High Court seeking de-registration of the AAP.
The main point of the PIL was that AAP used national emblem (Ashok Chakra) on its letter head and other places. The petitioner claims that this is a violation of the Constitution as no one can use the national emblem for personal use.
The Court has asked EC to submit an affidavit stating on what grounds was AAP registered. The next date of hearing in the case is May 2.
