Kolkata: Declining to comment on Mamata Banerjee's statement that Centre has decided to put the FDI issue on hold, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday said any Government decision will only be announced in Parliament.
"I cannot announce anything because Parliament is in session. Any government decision will be made in Parliament," Pranab said shortly after Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's statement that the Centre would suspend its decision on FDI in retail till a consensus was evolved.
"I talked to her twice, but officially I can't make any announcement as Parliament is in session," Pranab told reporters at his residence.
Mamata had made the statement after talking to Mukherjee on telephone.
Pranab arrived in Kolkata to visit the chief ministers's ailing mother Gayetri Banerjee in hospital.
