Tytler said he is also ready to undergo a lie detector test and dared them to also submit themselves to the test.

New Delhi: Congress on Friday refrained from commenting on the controversy surrounding party leader Jagdish Tytler against whom a court has ordered reopening of a case of alleged involvement in 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Praising the CBI party spokesperson Rashid Alvi said that it "investigates any issue with honesty".

"Investigation is the responsibility of CBI. It investigates any issue honestly whether it relates to LK Advani or somebody else....We respect the decisions of all courts be it the lower courts or the Supreme Court. It is for the court to decide who has committed or not committed something. We do not interfere in the legal process," Alvi said in response to a volley of questions. In the dock after a court ordered reopening of a case for his alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Congress leader Jagdish Tytler on Friday offered to quit politics if charges against him are proved.

Tytler, who claimed that witnesses have changed their statements number of times, said he is also ready to undergo a lie detector test and dared them to also submit themselves to the test.
