Bhubaneswar: Opposition Congress on Monday served a no-confidence notice in Odisha Assembly against the Naveen Patnaik ministry accusing it of failing on all fronts.
"We have served a notice for no trust motion as people of the state and the assembly has no confidence in the state government run by the BJD," Congress Chief Whip Prasad Harichandan said on the opening day of the Assembly session.
Stating that the opposition party was hopeful that Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat would take up the matter on Wednesday after the question hour, Harichandan said Congress wanted a debate over several failures of the state government.
Government Chief Whip Pravat Kumar Tripathy said, "The notice will be taken up if it is made as per provision of the Rules of the Business of the House. We do not understand what the opposition wanted to prove. They even do not have adequate numbers."
