New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government is likely to announce the names of new governors for four states, namely Rajasthan, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra, on Tuesday.
Senior BJP leader Kalyan Singh is likely to be appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan,a seat which fell vacant after Margaret Alva was transferred to Goa.
Vajubhai Vala, former Gujarat Assembly Speaker is likely to be annointed as the Karnataka Governor. Post of the Governor of Karnataka has remained vacant since July end when former Law Minister HR Bhardwaj had completed his five year tenure.
Meanwhile, Mridula Sinha is likely to be named the Goa Governor and Choudhary Vidyasagar Rao the Maharashtra Governor.
However, there is yet no word on the Kerala Governor. Sheila Dikshit's meeting with the Home Minister Rajnath Singh and President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday had sparked off speculations about her resignation as the Governor of Kerala.
