BJP to release letter written to Nitish for security for Modi's rally
The BJP claims that the blasts were a result of several security lapses by the Nitish Kumar government.

Patna: The politics over the Patna blasts is now heating up. Sources have told CNN-IBN that the Bharatiya Janata Party will release a letter that was written to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in September.

In the letter, the BJP had allegedly asked for high security for Gujarat Chief Minister and the party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's Hunkaar rally. The BJP claims that the blasts were a result of several security lapses by the Nitish Kumar government.

"Nitish Kumar says there were no intelligence inputs from the central government and then he says security measures were taken. We are now seeing on TV channels that he was provided a report on October 1. If security was given then what happened and how come serial blasts happened and that too on the same day as the Hunkaar rally," asked BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh.

The BJP is also demanding Nitish Kumar's resignation. "The CM doesn't have the moral courage to resign. The DGP should have been removed by now by the CM," said BJP leader Uday Singh.

This came even as Nitish Kumar said that the government had no intelligence input on the blasts. At least six people were killed and more than 80 injured as eight bombs exploded in Patna on Sunday, six of them in and around the ground where Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally just a few hours after the tragedy.
