New Delhi: The BJP would formally launch its election campaign for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections on Tuesday, the party said on Saturday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh, and Delhi election in-charge Nitin Gadkari will kickstart the campaign with a rally at Talkatora Stadium that will be attended by party workers from all over the city.
"A massive rally will be held at Talkatora Stadium on Sep 17. We will focus on issues like inflation, power, water, corruption, unauthorized colonies etc," said Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel.
"The party cadres will go to every household under the slogan 'Ghar,Ghar BhaJaPa' and highlight the failures of the Congress government in Delhi during the last 15 years," he added.
Goel further said that the announcement of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Friday would boost the party's chances of winning in Delhi.
"He (Modi) has a huge following among youth and BJP will enjoy a huge advantage in Delhi over the Congress," he said.
Elections to the Delhi assembly are scheduled in November.
According to the ABP News-Nielsen Mood of the Nation survey Thursday, the BJP is likely to get 32 of the 70 assembly seats while the ruling Congress will win 27 seats.
