New Delhi: In its third list for Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday night named 75 candidates for West Bengal, Bihar, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, Jharkhand and Maharashtra. Seniors leaders like Sushma Swaraj from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, SS Ahluwalia from West Bengal's Darjeeling and Kirti Azad from Darbhanga in Bihar feature in the list.
The list has seven candidates who will contest from West Bengal including Ahluwalia with the Gurkha Janmukti Morcha pledging its support for him. Poonam Mahajan will take on sitting Congress MP Priya Dutt in Mumbai North Central while journalist Pratap Simha has been fielded from Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat.
In Bihar Rajiv Pratap Rudy will contest from Saran while Shahnawaz Hussain will try his luck from Bhagalpur. New entrant to the BJP and former RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav will contest from Pataliputra. Yadav joined BJP after RJD chief Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti was given a ticket from Pataliputra. There has been no decision on Patna Sahib represented by Shatrughan Sinha.
The party has released 24 names for Madhya Pradesh, including Sushma Swaraj, Dalpat Singh Paraste from Shahdol and state minister Anup Mishra from Morena.
Meanwhile, there has been no decision on Uttar Pradesh which sends 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha.
