111. Balaghat is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Balaghat Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Balaghat falls in Balaghat district and Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,19,963 voters in the seat, which includes 1,09,396 male voters, and 1,10,565 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Balaghat recorded a voter turnout of 78.5%. In 2013 the turnout was 80.27%, and in 2008 it was 78.19%.
In 2013, Gourishankar Chaturbhuj Bisen of BJP won the seat by a margin of 2,500 votes (1.57%). Gourishankar Chaturbhuj Bisen secured 45.24% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 11,376 votes (9.06%), registering 32.93% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Balaghat Assembly segment of the Balaghat Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
