Warangal: Tension prevailed in the Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh with TRS party cadre attempting to block the convoy of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu is touring the Telangana district as part of his farmer welfare yatra.
The TRS party cadres shouted slogans and pelted stones at his convoy. They were demanding clarity from Naidu on the Telangana issue.
Warangal had heavy police deployment along the route of the yatra, with more than 2500 policemen on ground to ensure law and order. No body was injured in the protests.
The Warangal police had advised him to put off his tour of the district in view of the "hostile" atmosphere created by Telangana separatists.
Warangal Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar on Thursday night advised Naidu to put off his scheduled yatra in the district in view of the hostile atmosphere
created by separatists, led by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti.
A determined Chandrababu, however, told his aides that he would go ahead with his scheduled tour as he was fighting for the cause of farmers.
