Lucknow: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday complained to the Election Commission (EC) against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. The AAP alleged that Rahul was travelling in his constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh with a large number of vehicles on polling day.
The AAP accused Rahul of violating the model code of conduct as Amethi goes to polls today.
The EC has now sought a report from the District Magistrate about Rahul travelling with the convoy of vehicles. "The DM has told EC that Rahul Gandhi was travelling only in one vehicle. The rest were security vehicles," sources in the poll panel said.
