Amar Singh admitted to AIIMS
A Delhi court on Tuesday will pronounce its decision on Amar Singh's bail plea on health grounds.

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh, arrested for his alleged role in 2008 cash-for-vote scam, was on Monday night admitted in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) following a rise in keratin level in his body, Tihar jail spokesman Sunil Gupta said.

Singh, 55, was admitted in the private ward of AIIMS at around 8pm, Gupta said.

"Since his keratin level was high, we decided to shift him to AIIMS", he added.

Dr S Gupta, head of the Nephrology of AIIMS, is attending on Singh.

Singh, former Samajwadi Party general secretary, has been in Tihar jail since his arrest on September 6 in connection with the cash-for-vote scam.

Earlier in the day, Tihar jail authorities, quoting a report on his medical status, told a special court in New Delhi that health parameters of Amar Singh are "stable and normal".

Singh is seeking interim bail from a Delhi court on medical ground.
