New Delhi: It really is a case of 'kissa kursi ka' in Agra as the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are engaged in a bidding war for a chair on which party prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi sat on during a rally last week. The leaders are ready to pay as high as Rs 4.2 lakh to purchase the chair.
On Tuesday, the bidding war reached a whopping Rs 2 lakh. A resident of Agra has also offered to pay Rs 50,000 to own the chair.
"The chair used by Narendra Modi in my house will increase it's grace. I bid Rs 1,11,000 for it which later increased to Rs 1,25,000. The people want to connect to everything that has been graced by him," said BJP MLA Yogendra Upadhyay.
However, the chair belongs to a contractor who put up the tent for the rally and is refusing to sell it. "BJP MLAs have been calling me up and asking to buy the chair. I also received a call from a businessman who is associated with the party and is offering Rs 2 lakh, but I'm not selling this chair," said the contractor, Pramod Upadhyay.
