2G scam: DMK to move HC for Kanimozhi's bail
CBI Judge OP Saini dismissed the bail pleas of all accused in the scam on three accounts.

New Delhi: The Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) has decided to appeal to the High Court for 2G accused Kanimozhi on Friday. Kanimozhi and seven other were denied bail by the Special CBI Court on Thursday on two main accounts - possibility of the accused tampering with evidence and the seriousness of the offence.

DMK leader Khusboo said that the party was filing for Kanimozhi's bail in the High Court on Friday.

"We are filing for Kanimozhi's bail tomorrow in the high court. But looking at the argument it seems as though except for Mr Jethmalani or Mr Sundaram everybody has a come to a conclusion that they are guilty. But we know they are innocent till proven guilty. So why the branding of white collared criminals?" Khusboo said while speaking to CNN-IBN on Thursday.

CBI Judge OP Saini dismissed the bail pleas of all accused in the scam on three accounts. He said the three accounts on which the order is based are that the "crime committed was a deliberate offence, an economic offence and very serious in nature." He added that the accused used public money in careful manner for their personal use.

The judgement reads that the order given has not been influenced by any external factors but solely keeping in mind the facts and circumstances of the case.

It further added that 'a murder may be committed in the heat of moment upon passion being aroused. An economic offence is committed with cool calculation and deliberate design with an eye on personal profit regardless of consequence to community'.
