The Delhi High Court had earlier upheld the former union minister's conviction on the December 21.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has asked former Union Minister Sukhram, convicted in the 1993 telecom scam, to surrender before the trial court. The Delhi High Court had earlier upheld his conviction on the December 21.
The court had also upheld the conviction of two others, Runu Ghosh and P C Rama Rao in the scam.
The criminal conspiracy charge against Sukhram had been withdrawn.
A trial court had earlier sentenced Sukhram and Rama Rao to 3 years and Runu Ghosh to 2 years imprisonment for defrauding the exchequer by favouring a particular firm in 2002.
The HC had asked Sukhram, Ghosh and Rao to surrender on or before January 5 to undergo the sentence.
