Shraddha Murder Case: Aaftab May Have Anticipated Polygraph Test Questions, Rehearsed How to Answer
Although cops have planned another session of polygraph test, they will, however, have to rely mostly on narco-analysis examination, which is yet to be conducted

Aaftab Poonawala, accused in the murder case of live-in partner Shraddha Walkar, may have anticipated the questions and rehearsed how to answer the experts during the polygraph test at Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini, claimed an investigator.

The officer said Aaftab confidently lied while trying to answer some questions. According to a report by The Times of India, when a cop jokingly asked if he had watched Drishyam, the accused smiled. Although cops are mulling another test session, they will have to rely heavily on the narco-analysis examination.

“As on Thursday, Aaftab complained of fever today too, so the process couldn’t be completed. We may call him again another day,” FSL assistant director Sanjeev Gupta was quoted as saying to TOI.

According to the report, a cop said Aaftab started coughing soon after the electrodes were attached to him to disrupt the readings. “Due to his coughing, the readings went haywire and we couldn’t decide whether he was telling the truth or manipulating the test,” the report claimed.

According to cops, the Narco analysis on Aaftab will be conducted at Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini.

According to police, Poonawala allegedly strangled his live-in partner Walkar (27) on May 18 and sawed her body into 35 pieces. He then kept them in a 300-litre fridge for almost three weeks at his residence in South Delhi’s Mehrauli before dumping them across the city over several days past midnight. The saw was allegedly bought from a shop on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, police sources said.

‘Element of Love Jihaad’ in Mehrauli Killing: Assam CM

Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma has claimed the Mehrauli killing has an “element of love jihad” and said besides roads and electricity, security of daughters is a poll issue. Responding to a question on him raising the Shraddha Walkar murder case during the poll campaign and calling for a stringent law to prevent “love jihad”, Sarma said the case relates to the security of women and also has an “element of love jihad”.

“Aaftab brought Sharddha to Delhi for marriage. He cut her body into 35 pieces and put in the fridge…then he brought another woman in the same room…it relates to the security of women, it is related to the security of my daughter, and there is an element of love jihad,” he said at the Times Now Summit here.
