The objective of the Wednesday’s security breach at Parliament was to terrify the MPs and create unrest in the country, Lalit Mohan Jha, the mastermind behind the plan, revealed to Delhi Police Special Cell on Friday.
According to the remand note of the main accused, Lalit disclosed that the accused behind the security breach met several times to hatch the conspiracy. Delhi Police Special Cell has said that the incident was done to create anarchy and get their demands met.
In a major security breach on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack on Wednesday, two men — Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D — jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during the Zero Hour, released a yellow-coloured smoke from canisters and shouted slogans, before being overpowered by the MPs.
The Delhi Police Special Cell will also probe the connection of the accused with any foreign country and terror organisations.
The remand report further said that Lalit Jha disclosed that they wanted to create anarchy in the country so that they can compel the government to meet their unjust and illegal demand.
Jha also took the phones of all the accused in order to destroy the evidence against them and hide the larger conspiracy.
Lalit Mohan Jha is alleged to be the mastermind behind the plan and was arrested on Thursday evening.
A Delhi court on Friday sent Jha to 7-day police custody for his sustained custodial interrogation. Special Judge Hardeep Kaur remanded Jha in Delhi police’s custody after the public prosecutor said he was the mastermind of the incident and was required to be questioned to unearth the entire conspiracy.
The court passed the order on an application filed by the city police which sought his custody for 15 days.
