OSSTET 2023: Candidates can now register for the exam by visiting the official website at bseodisha.ac.in. The last date to apply for the exam is December 22

The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSE Odisha) has begun the registration process for the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test or OSSTET 2023. Candidates can now register for the exam by visiting the official website at bseodisha.ac.in. The last date to apply for the exam is December 22, and the last date to deposit fees is December 21.

OSSTET 2023 will consist of two papers — papers 1 and 2. While paper 1 will be conducted for classes 1 to 5, paper 2 will be conducted for classes 6 to 8. Candidates are advised to check the detailed eligibility criteria on the website before applying for the exam. They must have cleared class 10 with Odia as a subject, class 12, and graduation with 50 per cent marks along with BEd.

OSSTET 2023: How to Apply

Step 1: Visit the official website of BSE Odisha.

Step 2: On the homepage, go to the registration link, and click on it.

Step 3: Enter the required details.

Step 4: Pay the application fees.

Step 5: Download and take a print out of the acknowledgement page for further use

OSSTET 2023: Exam Pattern

Each paper will be held for 150 marks for 2 hours and 30 minutes. The questions will be asked in the multiple choice or objective format. While one mark will be given for a correct answer, there is no negative marking for any wrong attempt. The syllabus of OSSTET 2023 has also been released by the board.

The exam will have two papers and four sections in each paper. This includes section I which comprises language I in which Odia is compulsory. In section II or language II, English is mandatory. Section III features questions from arts and science. The questions in this section will be in English. For those attempting exams in other language subjects, the question papers will be in the relevant language. The fourth section comprises of child development, pedagogy, school management, and evaluation. This section too will be in English.

The minimum pass mark in each paper is 45 per cent or 68 marks out of 150. A person securing 45 per cent or more in each paper will be considered to have qualified OSSTET. In the case of SC, ST, PH, and SEBC candidates, the minimum pass mark must be 35 per cent or 53 marks out of 150.

The OSSTET Pass Certificate will remain valid till the candidate reaches the upper age limit prescribed for recruitment of teachers as per rules or executive instructions prescribed by the Govt. from time to time, the official notice stated.
