Aprilia has officially unveiled its latest speed demon, the Aprilia RS 457 globally with India being one of the first markets for its launch.
The motorcycle is developed simultaneously by the test team in Baramati, in the state of Maharashtra, India, and at the Aprilia headquarters in Noale, Italy. Furthermore, It will be manufactured in Piaggio India’s plant in Maharashtra.
The motorcycle has an aggressive, sporty look that resembles that of its older siblings. The bike sports various aerodynamic panels and a twin-pod LED cluster up front.
The bike’s performance-focused stance is evident in the side profile. Besides this, it also gets a well sculpted fuel tank and a split-seat setup that gives an impression of a single seat.
The Aprilia RS 457 is powered by a 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder with double camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder that churns out a top power of 48 bhp. The bike also features a 270-degree connecting rod assembly that provides a sporty sound.
The suspension setup consist of 41 mm USD forks with 120 mm of travel and preload adjustability upfront and pre-load adjustable monoshock with steel swingarm and 130 mm wheel travel at the rear. In terms of brakes, the bike gets 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston caliper and ByBre caliper brakes at the rear with 220 mm steel disc coupled with two-channel ABS system with dual map of use.
The bike comes equipped with Ride by Wire system that has three riding modes and three levels of traction control and interference with power and torque delivery. This can also be disabled. Also, the quickshifter will be offered as an accessory. The feature highlights include a 5-inch TFT control instrument cluster and the handlebar controls.
With 297 Grand Prix World Championship victories under its belt, Aprilia has made a lasting impression on the motorsports industry. The most recent torchbearer of this illustrious legacy, the RS 457, promises to leave its mark on the annals of racing history.
