Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s relationship is a known affair in Bollywood. The couple were the talk of the town back at one point in time. As per reports, they began dating when the Devdas actress had just broken up with Salman Khan. The Kyun! Ho Gaya Na’s co-stars’ relationship did not last too long and they parted ways in 2005. A few years after that Aishwarya married Abhishek Bachchan. Vivek Oberoi’s father and actor Suresh Oberoi was recently seen in Animal and in his latest interaction, he revealed he was not aware about anything regarding Vivek Oberoi-Aishwarya Rai-Salman Khan.
Speaking with Lehren, Suresh Oberoi shared, “Most of the things I didn’t even know. Vivek never told me. Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) told me. Before Ramu, somebody else told me. I had made him understand. Samjhaya tha mat karo (I had told him not to do).”
He further addressed his equations with Amitabh Bachchan, “I was never a friend of his. I was his co-star. We had a relationship industry wise. My friendship was with Danny Mukul. Yes, Mr Bachchan invited me for his birthday but it was fine. And he doesn’t let people know about most of the things. But whenever we meet, we are really nice to each other,” the veteran actor stated.
Suresh Oberoi also got candid about his dynamics with Salman Khan and Salim Khan. He revealed, “I was in relief in Vivek‘s case at that time and now also. Still we all meet each other very nicely. Whenever Salman Khan meets me, he hides the cigarette and then talks to me as a part of respect. I always tell Vivek to touch Salim ji’s feet. I also respect Salim Bhai. Things happened but my relationships are good enough.”
As per reports, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai broke up in 2002 and multiple media reports claimed that the actress was getting close to Vivek Oberoi as they were shooting for the movie Kyun! Ho Gaya Na, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan. Now, in a recent interview with Anas Bukhash, Vivek opened up about his past relationships. He highlighted how he has been hurt several times in his previous relationships since his exes were dishonest. While he did not drop any names, it seemed like he hinted at his break-up with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Vivek Oberoi said, “I am an all-or-nothing guy. I love with all my heart, but people like me get hurt. And when I was hurt, it was very difficult. The path that many such people take after getting hurt is that they try not to be who they are and be superficial. It was amazing in the beginning; you brought out your best flirtatious self, and I was playing the field. It was a big ego kick. But I was never dishonest. I wouldn’t commit to somebody and leave. I would be straightforward and tell them I am not looking for anything serious.”
Vivek Oberoi found love once again in Priyanka Alva, whom he married in 2010 and has two children named Vivaan Veer, and Ameya Nirvana. Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan tied the nuptial knot to Abhishek Bachchan in 2007 and has a daughter named Aaradhya.
