Rashmika Mandanna Has Message for Rumoured BF Vijay Deverakonda As He Reacts To Her Deepfake Video
Vijay Deverakonda has said that what happened to Rashmika Mandanna 'shouldn't happen to anyone' and called for stringent punishment.

A deepfake video of Rashmika Mandanna left celebrities in deep shock with many, including actors Amitabh Bachchan, Keerthy Suresh, Mrunal Thakur, Ishaan Khatter and Naga Chaitanya calling for legal action. Rashmika’s rumoured boyfriend, actor Vijay Deverakonda, too, reacted to the viral video. He said what happened to Rashmika “shouldn’t happen to anyone”.

Sharing a news article titled ‘Government cracks down on deepfakes after viral Rashmika Mandanna video’, Vijay wrote on his Instagram story, “Extremely important steps for the future. This shouldn’t happen to anyone. Also, an efficient accessible cyber wing for quick crackdowns and punishment will make people more secure.” Now, Rashmika has reposted Vijay’s Instagram story and said: “Agreed completely.”

For the unversed, a morphed video of Rashmika Mandanna recently went viral on social media. In the clip, the woman with Rashmika’s face was seen getting into a lift, wearing a fitted outfit. The video instantly went viral and a few social media users came forward to clarify that the video had been deep faked. It grabbed everyone’s attention after superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to the microblogging site X and demanded legal action.

Rashmika Mandanna also reacted to the clip and called it ‘scary’. “I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online. Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused. Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could I ever tackle this. We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
