Kanikka Kapur made her Bollywood debut with Rajshri Productions latest release Dono. She is on cloud nine with an overwhelming response from audiences. Since the film’s release, Kanikka has been inundated with compliments for her acting prowess, captivating screen presence, and impressive dancing skills, earning her admiration from both the audience and the industry.
However, the most meaningful compliment came from none other than the film’s producer, Sooraj Barjatya. “Post the film’s premiere, Sooraj sir congratulated me for beautifully upholding the dignity and grace of a Rajshri heroine, just as heroines have done in films produced by Rajshri Productions over the years. Entering the Rajshri office is like entering your family house!”
Kanikka is all praise for the veteran producer-filmmaker, sharing her deep admiration for Sooraj Barjatya and his vision. She also admires his treatment of people and aspires to embody his kindness in her own life. Kanikka eagerly anticipated Sooraj sir’s character explanations before each scene.
Interestingly, a delightful similarity emerged between Kanikka and Sooraj sir during the film’s shoot. Kanikka wore a yellow lehenga in one sequence, and to her surprise, she learned that yellow was not only her favorite color but also Sooraj sir’s. Out of all her looks in the film, it became his favorite, bringing her even more joy.
Kanikka also fondly recalls the valuable advice she received from Sooraj Barjatya during the film’s shoot. “Sooraj sir also used to give me very sensible advices during the shoot of our film like how in a temple, we remove our footwear before we enter and go with a feeling of devotion. Similarly, how we should leave all our baggage of who we are and what we may be going through at home before we come on a set and go with a feeling of being an empty vessel so that we can absorb our characters and what they are going through more easily. There is a lot that one can learn from him!” she concludes.
Not just films, Kanikka has done impressive work on TV too as a lead in Ek Duje Ke Vaaste 2 and acting based competition India’s Next Superstar on Star Plus’. Her OTT work includes projects like TVF Immature season 2, and she will be returning for its season 3. The emerging talent has a diverse portfolio and is taking the acting world by storm.
