Srikanth is an Indian actor who primarily acts in Tamil and Telugu films. In Telugu films, he is seen as Sriram. He made his debut in K Balachander’s television series Jannal – Marabu Kavithaigal (1999).
Srikanth has gradually been doing fewer films and is now acting in a few films and web series. In this situation, an interview with Srikanth is currently going viral.
In this interview, Srikanth said that director Mani Ratnam made the decision not to do any more films with him. He said that he had done a screen test for Suriya and Siddharth’s character in Aaytha Ezhuthu.
Srikanth shared “As I liked Siddharth’s role, I finally took up the role and the shooting began. Then I got injured in a fire accident during the shooting of Manasellam and was admitted to the hospital with burns on my face too. He monitored my condition from time to time. When I got better, the producer of Manasellam taking advantage of that, started threatening me that I would have to act in other films only after I finished the role in Manasellam. Then I was forced to complete the film without any other option and then I returned the advance from Mani Ratnam”. Immediately Mani Ratnam said, “If you cancel after waiting for so long, it is very wrong, what an insult”.
After starting as a model, Srikanth wanted to start an acting career and was trained in his acting skills by assistant directors such as Vetrimaaran and Mysskin in the early 2000s. Srikanth was selected for the lead role in Kathir’s Kadhal Virus (2002) and spent a year preparing for the film before being replaced by another newcomer Richard. After that, he was supposed to make his acting debut in Jeevas 12B, but the role went to another newcomer, Shaam.
Other potential projects directed by Bharathiraja and K. Balachander also failed to work out before he was cast by Sasi in Roja Kootam (2002) after the original lead actor dropped out. After the film’s success, he became popularly known as Roja Kootam Srikanth for a while.
