Sonakshi Sinha is getting married to Zaheer Iqbal on June 23. While Sonakshi is staying tight-lipped about the ceremony, it is widely reported that the wedding ceremony will be an intimate affair. Well, that’s exactly how Sonakshi always wanted it. In an interview a decade ago, Sonakshi revealed that while she loves the big ceremony, she wanted a rather smaller affair.
“I love the big fat Indian wedding, but for my own wedding I’d prefer to keep things simple and sweet,” Sonakshi told Filmfare in 2013. “I’d love a simple and fuss-free wedding. And of course my parents, advice would have top priority. My dream wedding would be on the beach with my family, closest friends and colleagues,” she added.
“I love the idea of a destination wedding. That would mean keeping the unwanted guests at bay and ensuring that only those closest to me are present. It could be in Maldives or Bali. A beach place for sure!” Sonakshi said. “I’d never turn into a bridezilla even if there are millions of hectic preparations. I’d make sure that I have finished off all my pending film projects,” Sonakshi added.
Seems like not much has changed with Sonakshi’s idea of a wedding.
Zaheer and Sonakshi are set to get married on June 23. Last week, Sonakshi’s wedding invite was leaked online. The wedding invite also includes an audio QR code which features a sweet message from Sonakshi and Zaheer.
“To all our hip, tech-savvy and jasoos friends and family who has managed to land on this page, hi,” the note began with Sonakshi greeting the invitees. “For the last seven years that we have been together, all the joy, love, laughter and many, many adventures has led us to this very moment,” Zaheer continued.
