In the year 2016, Dilip Kumar signed an agreement with the Aashar Group for the project where his house stood.

It’s been three years since the passing of veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar, who took his last breath on July 7, 2021. Since then, there have been various updates regarding his iconic bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai. The luxurious property is set to be demolished to make way for a new apartment building. This real estate project, reportedly decided in 2016, is located in the Pali Hill area of Bandra, home to several popular celebrities. The new building will honor the legendary actor by being named ‘The Legend.’

According to media reports, the bungalow was sold for approximately Rs 172 crore. The property, originally a triplex bungalow, has become one of the most expensive in the city. The company Apco Infratech Private Limited purchased the land and is now spearheading the construction of the new building.

In 2016, Dilip Kumar signed an agreement with the Aashar Group to develop the project on the site of his former home. The new structure will feature 4 and 5 BHK luxury apartments, with the main attraction being the sea-facing views. A total of 15 such flats will be constructed, with the project expected to be completed by 2027. Additionally, the developers plan to build a museum on the ground floor dedicated to Dilip Kumar’s life and achievements, further honoring his legacy.

Dilip Kumar initially bought the bungalow from Abdul Latif in September 1953. After marrying Saira Banu in 1966, Kumar moved to her residence, leaving the bungalow vacant. This development marks a significant transformation of the iconic property, preserving the memory of one of Bollywood’s most revered actors.
