This became the first film in Indian cinema that showed an on-screen kiss between husband and wife. Reportedly, the kiss lasted for 4 minutes in the film. It is said that the scene holds the record for the longest kissing scene in Indian cinema. This was the first kissing scene in Indian cinema and also one of the earliest kissing scenes in the world. It has been more than 90 years since the film was released, but to date, the record has not been broken.
The film also gave a lot of recognition to Devika Rani, who is also called the first lady of Indian cinema. She had an illustrious career that spanned more than 10 years.
