Sonu Sood is one of those actors in Indian cinema who has raked in a substantial amount of popularity, not only owing to his acting, but his helpful nature as well. He has emerged as a beacon of hope for many migrants and people from impoverished backgrounds during Covid-19. On the occasion of Sonu’s 51st birthday today, one of his fans – a man named Purushottam, hailing from Kuppam, in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh – has dedicated an artwork to him. He works at the Hawkings International School. In this artwork, Purushottam had asked the 1200 students of the school to assemble in such a way that it outlines the facial features of the actor. Not only this, he also formed the lines of students in such a manner that it creates the message HBD Real Hero. A photo of this remarkable gift has gone viral on social media.
Sonu hails from Moga, Punjab, and was born on July 30, 1973. His father Shakti Sagar Sood ran a garment shop and his mother Saroj Sood was a teacher. He also has a sister Monika, who is a scientist by profession. While pursuing his graduation in Engineering from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur, Sonu commenced his career with modelling.
In 1999, Sonu Sood made his acting debut with the Tamil film Kallazhagar and after that, there was no looking back. He acted in several regional films like Nenjinile, Hands Up, and Majunu. He then made his debut in Bollywood with the film Shaheed-E-Azam in 2002 and played the role of Bhagat Singh in the film.
He shot to fame after playing the character of Abhishek Bachchan’s on-screen brother in the 2004 film Yuva. He even received much adulation for the 2005 romantic thriller Aashiq Banaya Aapne.
In 1996, Sonu married Sonali Shirdhar, who hails from Andhra Pradesh. The couple fell in love when Sonu was pursuing engineering at the same college as Sonali.
Sonu Sood will next act in the film Fateh to be directed by him. This film will be released on January 10, 2025.
