Ishq Vishk Rebound, directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari, explores the story of two best friends who navigate love, friendship, betrayal, heartbreak, and rebound relationships. The film stars Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Naila Grewal, and Jibraan Khan. At the box office, the film has seen a decline. According to Sacnilk, as of now, the rom-com has minted Rs 4.42 crore in total ticket sales. Talking to News18 Showsha exclusively about the mixed reviews, Rohit Saraf said that it drives him more to do the kind of work which the audience would appreciate.
He said, “I feel like I had such high expectations from myself and it came to my performance in the film because all this while I had a dream that I wanted to be a mainstream hero and I wanted to do a mainstream film. I wanted to be on the big screen and I wanted to see myself myself dance and all of that and so I had like massive expectation for myself. And to meet up with an expectation, I could only do one thing — that was to work tremendously hard for it, which I did. I ensured that every single day, when I entered and before I left I ensured that my director and producers were happy with what I did.”
Rohit said that how people perceive a film is not in his control. “What I can control is that I ensure that I deliver my 100% and I think I was able to do that. I’m also extremely happy and grateful that every single person who has loved my performance has reached out – specifically people from the fraternity – from critics to the media and every single person who watched it sent really heart-warming messages,” he added.
He went on to say that it is only fair that a film will be liked by some and not liked as much by a certain section. On a concluding note, Rohit said, “When I talk about the film – some people like it and some people don’t necessarily like it that much – I feel like that’s only fair because everyone has their preferred genres. I also very strongly believe that the people that we made it for – which was today’s generation – when they go and watch, they are actually enjoying it. I absolutely respect people who don’t because eventually, everyone’s entitled to their opinion, and if somebody doesn’t like something, it’s fine. It’s not every person is going to like what you do. I really hope that I’m able to do a project in future where I can make them also happy. It actually drives me even more when I see somebody who says that they didn’t like this. Eventually, as actors, we want the audience like us.”
Next up, Rohit will be seen in Mismatched 3.
