Rituraj Singh passed away on Tuesday at the age of 59. The actor worked with Shah Rukh Khan during their theatre days.

Actor Rituraj Singh died on Tuesday, February 20, at the age of 59. The actor, best known for his small screen roles, died of a cardiac arrest. Stars from the film and television industry have been coming forward to offer condolences to his family. Many are sharing their memories of working with him on social media. Amid this, fans are revisiting photos from his younger days, especially the ones with Shah Rukh Khan. For the unversed, Rituraj and Shah Rukh were friends in their theatre days.

The actors were a part of Barry John’s Theatre Action Group (TAG). In photos surfaced online, Rituraj and Shah Rukh have been spotted in the same frame. In one of the photos, the actors and their groupmates were seen hanging out together. In another post, Rituraj, SRK and their friends were seen clicking goofy photos together. Check them out below:

Rituraj’s close friend Amit Bhel confirmed the news of his death and told the entertainment portal, “Yes he passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted to a hospital some time back for treatment of pancreas returned home had some cardiac complications and passed away." However, details about Rituraj’s final rites are not known as of now.

Rituraj Singh is known for shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kutumb, Abhay 3 and Never Kiss Your Best Friend among others. He was also seen in Rupali Ganguly’s superhit show, Anupamaa. Rituraj also worked in films like Satyamev Jayate 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. In the latter, he played Varun Dhawan’s father. The film also starred Alia Bhatt in the lead.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay tribute to the actor. “Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this! I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill but in the process, we became good friends. Been a while since we hung out but I have such fond memories. Untapped actor and a warm human. Gone suddenly and too early," he wrote. Sonu Sood wrote, “RIP Bhai #rituraj."
