Rajkummar Rao Opens Up About Struggles And Success In Latest Podcast Interview
Kai Po Che is a buddy sports drama film directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Rajkummar Rao is currently making headlines for his latest horror-comedy film Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in the lead roles. The film turned out to be a huge box-office success. It is directed by Amar Kaushik and is the sequel to the 2018 movie Stree.

Meanwhile, recently Rajkummar Rao has shared some interesting anecdotes he experienced during his struggle days in Bollywood, which is currently garnering everyone’s attention. According to reports initially, Rajkummar Rao has been dropped from projects for one reason or another. However, the actor has said that such instances highlight the failure of the producers and not him. Rajkummar recently appeared on Audible’s podcast ‘The Longest Interview’ and shared about his struggle days.

The actor said, “Everything was going well at some point, but then for some reason, I was dropped from the film. It was not my failure. It was their failure that they did not handle it properly. Those experiences taught me to always be prepared.”

Rajkummar Rao also shared that, looking back, he felt that maybe it was for the best. The film never got made and the characters were not impressive. He said, “I believe that when the universe is guiding you, everything falls into place.” He also told how his experience was working on Kai Po Che!

Sharing an interesting story, he said, ‘I enjoyed reading Chetan Bhagat’s The Three Mistakes of My Life. Earlier, another of his books ‘One Night at the Call Center’ had already been made into a film, so I knew that he was a writer whose books were being made into films.’

The actor further said, ‘I still remember, when I was new in Bombay, I read Three Mistakes of My Life and expressed it in the universe. There are three characters in the book and I hoped that if ever a film was made, I would get one of those roles. I didn’t reveal which role it would be, but I was keen on it and then Kai Po Che happened. It’s unrealistic but true.’

Kai Po Che is a buddy sports drama film directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Amit Sadh and the then newcomer, Sushant Singh Rajput as the three main protagonists, while Amrita Puri plays the female lead. The film was a huge success and received five nominations at the 59th Filmfare Awards.
