Recently, a post surfaced on the social media platform Reddit, which claimed that Pakistani actress Mahira Khan might be pregnant with her second child. It also added that she has taken a step back from her esteemed projects, Netflix’s Jo Bachey Sang Samait Lo and another yet-to-be-titled film. Now the actress has reacted to the situation and issued a statement.
Clearing the air, she told the Express Tribune, “It’s not true that I’m pregnant. And I haven’t left the Netflix series.” The actress refuted the pregnancy rumours.
The Reddit post read, “So, I got this news from a close source that she opted out of the esteemed Netflix project alongside a big film as she’s expecting her second child somewhere in August or September. An announcement could be made soon or not if she chooses to announce it after birth, but as she’s a big celeb and can’t keep it lowkey for long, I personally feel that she will announce.”
The actress, in October 2023, got married for the second time to a Pakistani businessman, Salim Karim. Before Salim, Mahira was married to Ali Askari. The couple soon entered parenthood and were blessed with a baby boy named Azlan. However, the duo decided to part ways in 2015.
In an interaction with the FWhy podcast, Mahira disclosed the bond she shares with her ex-husband, Ali Askari. She even revealed Azlan’s relationship with her ex-husband’s second wife and their son. Mahira said that both she and Ali have respectfully accepted each other’s new families, and even their kid, Azlan, bonds well with her former husband’s son from his second marriage.
Mahira Khan is known for her impeccable and versatile performances in various Pakistani shows and projects, such as Humsafar, Bin Roye, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay They, Razia. She made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with the action-thriller Raees, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, which made her a prominent actress in India as well.
