Director Madhur Bhandarkar’s Chandni Bar (2001) is counted as one of the epic films produced in Bollywood. It garnered positive reviews for the acting, direction and other aspects. Now, this film, earlier headlined by actress Tabu, is all set for its sequel to be directed by the writer Mohan Azaad. As per reports, names of 4 prominent actresses – Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, Adah Sharma and Kiara Advani – are emerging regarding the female lead in this sequel. Any one of them will reportedly play the lead. All 4 actresses are known to have impressed the audience with their stellar acting performances in many films. 1. Kriti Sanon
Kriti Sanon has proved her acting credentials in the films Bareilly Ki Barfi and Mimi. Besides acting alongside many established actors and directors, she has also ventured into production with Blue Butterfly Films. She last acted in the films Crew and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.
2. Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha will soon act in the film Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik. This film will be a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree. She also won adulation for playing the lead role in the 2017 film Haseena Parkar.
3. Adah Sharma
Adah Sharma shot to fame with the 2023 release of The Kerala Story. She has also played key roles in the web series Sunflower Season 2 and the film Bastar: The Naxal Story. Adah had enacted the role of a bar dancer in the Sunflower Season 2, quite similar to the role in Chandni Bar’s sequel.
4. Kiara Advani
Kiara Advani is also a strong contestant for the lead role in the second instalment of Chandni Bar. She has been lauded for her exemplary acting performances in the films Satyaprem Ki Katha and Shershaah. She will next play a pivotal role in the film Game Changer headlined by Ram Charan. Game Changer will be released at the cinema halls in December 2024.
Chandni Bar will reportedly release at the cinemas in December 2025.
