Kareena Kapoor On Her Film The Buckingham Murders: 'I Am Very Proud Of This Choice'
The Buckingham Murders marks Kareena and Hansal Mehta’s first collaboration and the actress's debut as a producer.

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s latest thriller mystery The Buckingham Murders has hit the theatres today September 13. Sharing BTS pictures from the movie, the actress shared that she is proud of choosing this film and urged her fans to watch it in theatres. In the movie, Kareena plays a grieving detective Jasmeet Bhamra or “Jass” who is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a child in Buckinghamshire.

The movie will be released in 2 versions Hinglish (original) and Hindi dubbed English to ensure accessibility. Sharing the pictures, Kareena wrote, “As an actor, it’s the choices one makes…And I am very proud of this choice. Please watch this story and dive into my world of crime and drama… a dream I have always had to act in or produce one…but here I got the best of both worlds. Go find a screen #TheBuckinghamMurders now in cinemas.”

The Buckingham Murders marks Kareena and Hansal Mehta’s first collaboration and the actress’ debut as a producer. The film also stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar and Keith Allen in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, the film’s director also shared a post on his Instagram account, offering a glimpse of some scenes of his now-released film from his lens. Mehta’s carousel featured 20 slides featuring images of him talking with Kareena and other crew members. Sharing the post, Mehta wrote, “What a journey. Gratitude to all those in the pictures and to those aren’t. I cannot thank the crew enough for having made this film and for making its process so memorable. I love all of you. The Buckingham Murders is now your film. Playing at a cinema hall near you.”

The Buckingham Murders initially premiered at the 67th BFI London Film Festival on October 14, 2023. Previously, during her chat on Netflix’s The Actors’ Roundtable 2023, Kareena shared insights about her role in the film and said, “I think I loved playing that part because this is the first time I am playing a detective, and I am a huge crime drama fan.”
