At the trailer launch of her upcoming film Emergency in Mumbai, Kangana Ranaut was quizzed about whether she looks at herself as a one-woman army and if she relates to Salman Khan’s struggles with being misunderstood in Bollywood. With her trademark confidence, Kangana revealed that she prefers to shine a spotlight on her fans who appreciate and the positive feedback she receives. According to Kangana, she’s all about focusing on the love she gets rather than the critics who’d rather see her leave the industry.
Kangana said, “Agar Salman ji ko dekhein unki kitni fan following hai, kitna pyaar karte hain log unse. I think he is right now the top most, the most-loved star in the country. Jin logon ko unse pyaar hai, unse pyaar hai. Ab jin logon ki aankhon mein woh khatakte hain, woh to unse nafrat karenge hi. Jo log unki competition ke hain ya film industry walon ki baat kar rahe hain, na unki aankhon mein to woh khatkeinge. Hum unki jagah pe hone chahiye ya woh uss jagah pe kyun hai, to aise to logon ki aankhon mein woh khatkeinge (If you look at Salman ji, he has such a huge fan following, and people love him so much. Those who love him will continue to love him. But those who find him bothersome will obviously hate him — whether it’s his competitors or people in the film industry. In their eyes, he will always be a source of irritation. If we were in his place or if people question why he is in that position, then, of course, he will be bothersome to them).”
Kangana also spoke of a few “negative people” in the film industry who have formed their own circle, and she feels that in their eyes, she will always be a problem because they feel that their own people should be in this position. “Kuch jo log hain, negative log jo hain film industry ke log hain, jinon ne apna ek circle banaya hai, unki aankhon mein to main khatkiongi kyunki unko lagega ki hamare apne log is jagah pe hone chahiye aur Kangana nahin honi chahiye. Woh unke apne group ke honge, gang ke honge ya family ke honge. Woh is type par logon ko kyun sambodhit karein. Itna ninety percent log aapse pyaar karte hain, sirf woh teen percent par hi focus karna chahte hain jo ki hamesha khurafat karte rahte hain. I think that’s not the way to look at life (These people might belong to their group, gang, or family. Why should we address such people? Ninety percent of people love you, but some only focus on the three percent who constantly create trouble).”
Kangana Ranaut’s directorial Emergency will release on September 6.
