Legendary American singer-songwriter and guitarist, Jon Bon Jovi, recently played a key role in saving a woman’s life. He was captured talking a distressed woman off the ledge of a Nashville bridge, according to police. The event took place on Tuesday night at the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and the entire incident was caught on surveillance footage. Bon Jovi was reportedly in the middle of filming a music video when it happened, with the bridge still open to the public. Footage released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on Wednesday shows the woman sitting on the ledge of the bridge, which overlooks the Cumberland River.

In the video, Bon Jovi and another individual are seen approaching a woman wearing a blue dress and engaging in a conversation. The woman eventually turns toward them. A minute later, the footage shows Bon Jovi and the other person assisting the woman in climbing back over the railing. Once she’s safe, Bon Jovi gives her a hug, and they walk together down the bridge with others.

“A shout out to Jon Bon Jovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety,” Nashville police wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). They expressed their gratitude to Bon Jovi and his team for stepping in to assist the woman. “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” Nashville Police Chief John Drake said in their statement.
