James Gunn Completes Script Of Peacemaker Season 2, Details Inside

John Cena in the iconic red costume in Peacemaker immediately won over fans and they have been demanding a second season ever since. While the audience has been anticipating the show’s second season, James Gunn, the creative mind behind Peacemaker has finally completed writing the script. Gunn who has been also deeply involved in reshaping the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) recently confirmed that he has finished writing the eighth and final episode of Peacemaker Season 2.

Otherwise known for sharing glimpses of his projects on social media, this time around, he simply confirmed the report as “accurate.” In a post shared on Threads, claiming that James Gunn has finished writing Peacemaker Season 2, the filmmaker reposted the same and wrote “Accurate. Peacemaker.”

Peacemaker 2 will have ‘opening dance credits’ scene

While this has taken the excitement level among fans to a new level, Gunn was also seen shedding a bit of light on another aspect of the upcoming show. The DC Studios co-CEO while reacting to another post confirmed that the second season of Peacemaker will have a dance number in its opening credits.

Noting that the previous version featured multiple characters who died across the season, Gunn in response to a query on whether Peacemaker 2 will have the same intro wrote, “A lot of dancing people died first season. A new intro with new characters will be coming.”

Besides that, Gunn also confirmed that choreographer Charissa Barton will be returning to help recreate Season 2’s dance sequence.

What we know so far about Peacemaker 2

Max officially picked up Peacemaker Season 2 in February 2022, details are currently under wraps about Peacemaker’s second season. However, there’s said to be a lot of potential for where the characters go further. Among all the characters, is Vigilante, the hilarious, albeit unstable, friend of Peacemaker will mark his return, which signals more of the great dynamic between Peacemaker and his ultra-violent friend and could lead to some character development alongside the lead.

Talking about the show, the first part shows the titular protagonist working with a ragtag team consisting of Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks), Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), John Economos (Steve Agee), Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), and Eagly (Dee Bradley Baker) as they are tasked with putting an end to a mysterious extra-terrestrial threat called Project Butterfly.

However, what superhero adventure entails in the second season is still a mystery. While it is possible that Pacemaker Season 2 could have a release date by the end of 2025 or early 2026, the exact release date remains unconfirmed
