Actor Rakshit Shetty starrer 777 Charlie garnered many positive reviews upon its release on June 10, 2022 at the cinema halls. This film reflected on the endearing bond between a human Dharma (Rakshit) and a dog Charlie. Kiranraj K directed this film. Produced on a budget of Rs 20 crore, 777 Charlie earned Rs 105 to 115 crore globally at the box office. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and the Jio Cinema.
777 Charlie became a hit at the box office despite having no conventional entertaining elements, i.e.- action sequences and romance. The audience was left emotional, especially after watching the film’s ending. The film starred Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, Bobby Simha and others in the important roles. The movie won the South Indian International Movie Awards in 2023 under the Best Film category.
Some time back, there was heartwarming news regarding the dog Charlie, who played an integral role in this film. She gave birth to 6 beautiful puppies. Rakshit informed the social media users about this on Instagram. He was seen cuddling Charlie and carefully holding her puppies. Rakshit Shetty will make a comeback as a director with the Kannada film Richard Anthony: Lord of The Sea. He will also play the lead in this project. This film also stars Rishab Shetty, Kishore Kumar G, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty and Yagna Shetty in important roles. Backed by Hombale Films, Richard Anthony is currently in the pre-production stage.
As an actor, he last played the male lead in the Sapta Sagaradaache Ello franchise directed by Hemanth M Rao. This franchise was a hit with the audience and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Actresses Rukmini Vasanth and Chaithra J Achar enacted the female leads in both parts of this series. Rakshit played Manu’s role in both parts of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello.
