Paul Feig brings three female scientists Melissa McCarthy Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones together in a team gender swapping the previous well known team of ghost busters.
The film also stars Chris Hemsworth as their receptionist and will feature cameos from original actors Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd. The new film is Sony’s major attempt to restart one of their few successful franchises and also create a “cinematic universe" that would allow a number of related films to exist.
While many have appreciated an change in gender of the previous team, one thing that has got everybody taking is the portrayal of Leslie Jones’ character as the 'street smart', non-scientist one. Leslie Jones, the black cast member, will portray a transit employee in the film while the other three are PhD scientist excelling in technical fields.
Well, with a reboot and many remarks and controversies, 'Ghostbusters' is set to release on July 15 this year.
